I mangaged to get an install almost working. I went through the mythtv-setup and got the system to recognize my pcHDTV card and scan through all the local channels.

The scan found both analog and digital channels.

From frontend, I cannot get a channel lock. It knows what channels should be there, but they don't get a lock.

I determined I was trying channels that were not really in my area. I guess the channel listing includes any that could be in my area, not the ones that acutally lock in.

Now, if I try to see a channel that does show a good lock when scanning, I get a "video display error' problem. The second time I go to watch TV I don't even get that error.

Intel pentium 4 3.2 dual core, nvidia card.

I see the command line error "Ringbuff... Invald file when opening /mythtv/tv/)

I get a couple of mpg files being created in /mythtv/tv

Mythtv error message complain that the file they are looking for is no available, although a file of size 0 with the same name is there. A .mpg file from the previous second is there, and it has some size to it.

Trying to play these files in mplayer also does not work for me.

Not sure how to even test this stuff. Is there a mpg file and mplayer command line string I could use to see if it is working? Maybe this should be in the install, like they usually do with audio cards (which should also be in the install).
