Post subject:  what video source to specify for starhub singapore

Hi All,

I installed succesfully dual-booting with Win XP after some fiddling with grub as lilo wouldn't do it for me. Found the video source spec a stop sign for me in the configuration, couldn't see a choice close to my provider in the list - Starhub Cablevision. Appreciate any answers/hints/tips.

Cheers

Rama

Set it to use EIT data (which means it won't try and grab tv data using the grab scripts) and carry on with the rest of your setup. Once you found your channels through scanning, you'll need to set up a manual mythfilldatabase script that downloads an xmltv file for Starhub Cablevision (try googling for one) and imports it manually. See http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=NZMythConfig for ideas.

Looks like you can get help with a Singapore xmltv file here:

Post subject:  channel frequencey tables

Thanks for the Info Nick.

any ideas on the channel frequency table option for Singapore ? the myth tv 0.20 appears to have added support, yet to make its way into knppmyth I guess ..

btw I chose one of the channel frequency tables and tried a channel scan - it failed to open the tuner card with an error message to that effect .. perhaps someone knows what I am taking about, else I promise to note down the exact error message and post it. I am using a PVR-350 - seems to be dtected by the knoppmyth CD when I boot off it.

You'll need to be a bit more specific :-)

See here
http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CheckingLogFiles
especially the part that gives the ivtv messages.
