Umm either i am insane, or your all insane, but /etc/x11 folder doesn't exist. At all. I have searched and searched for anyone else with the same problem, but i have found none. I am kind of a linux newb, and the command line makes me want to smash things, but i am usually able to copy correctly. I have tried to enter it in about 5 times, and each time linux yells at me, calls me stupid, and says that directory doesn't exist. Now, i don't think this is a hardware problem.... but in case it is i am running a 2.2 ghz celeron d proccessor, 512 ram, nvida geforce 5200 Wintv GO and another hauppage a friend gave me that i have no idea what it is, but it works. Anyways, i think this is the point where you point out the incredibly obvious solution and laugh as i slowly crawl over.

Don't forget that things are case sensitive, so /etc/x11/ doesn't exist, but /etc/X11/ does (or should).

Try:
locate -i /ETc/x11
returns a long list.
i for case insensitive

locate -i /ETc/x11 | less
give it to me a page at a time; spacebar to move forward; b to move back; q to end.
