Post subject:  problems seeing sata

I ran the automated install of knoppmyth on a 10gb IDE drive with the intent of mounting a SATA dive on /myth after the installation. Now I can't see any SATA drive in /etc/fstab. fdisk doesn't recognize any dev/sd*. could there be something else that this SATA drive could come up as? If it's a SCSI driver that I'm missing how do I go about installing this off the disk?

Thanks
Chris

Check the dmesg log to see if the OS sees the device at all. If not you probably have some kind of BIOS configuration issue.

Are you using KnoppMyth 5D1? In addition to tjc's suggetion, it's possible that your SATA chipset is not supported by that particular linux kernel. Also, just check signal and power connections, just to make sure.
