Post subject: | myth transcode is corrupting video |
OK, so I have another issue with myth transcode. I recently used the edit feature from watching a video to remove all unwanted portions and commercials so I can save space on my hard drive. I transcoded show A and B the first time and found out that the end result (newly transcoded file) was much larger - almost twice as large. Discovering that it must be the compression algorithm, I then went into mythfrontend in the recording settings and changed the transcoder from RTjpeg to MPEG-4. I then went back and re-transcoded the already transcoded files (shows A and B) and it worked well. Video is watchable... However, when I now try to transcode any new shows (c and d), which have not originally been transcoded yet, it's corrupting the video. The entire video becomes pixelated and is completely unwatchable. I've ruined 2 videos before I stopped b/c I thought it was a system problem. After rebooting the system it's still doing it. Anyone have any reason why mythtranscode isn't working? Thanks in advance! SF |

Here's something odd... I was able to watch the same video using my PC which has a divx decoder installed... I'm wondering if mythtv just isn't recognizing the format? Would anyone know if this might be the case? |
