Post subject: | Upgrade to 0.20 - Mythweb 500 Internal Server Error |
I'm a first time poster so please correct me if I've put this question in the wrong place. Upgrading from R5D1, I compiled and installed new versions of mythtv, mythplugins, and myththemes from svn. I then followed the instructions at here from knoppmythwiki for copying the mythweb files into the proper location. I can log into the main webserver but when I go to the mythweb link I get a 500 Internal Server Error. The Apache log says: [crit] [client 192.168.0.2] configuration error: couldn't check user. No user file?: /mythweb/mythweb.php Anyone know what I should check, what does this mean? Does mythweb or apache need to be reconfigured after upgrading from 0.19 to 0.20? |

I had a pretty shitty experience going from 0.19 to 0.20a and actually did a reinstall of R5D1 to fix the problem. I had issues with mythweb as well (although not what you're experiencing). That didn't answer your question; just thought I'd share. |

You probably need to perform the following steps from the KnoppMythWiki page on compiling from svn, at http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CompileMythTVFromSVN: Update MythWeb The web-based interface to MythTV (mythtweb) also needs to be installed: (Note from Mark H. If you are doing a SVN version update (i.e. updating to latest -fixes version) and not upgrading to the next milestone version of mythtv (like upgrading from .19-fixes to .20), you can keep your current mythweb, as there are usually database changes to milestone releases.) cd ~/svn/mythplugins/mythweb cp -R * /var/www/mythweb |

I re-installed R5D1 from scratch and mythweb of course works again. I had in fact copied the files over to var/www/mythweb, but I think the problem had something to do with a misconfigured httpd.conf file. Now I have a different dilemma, the choice between going up to 0.20, or trying to get the last fixes version of 0.19. If anyone can point me to where the latest version of 0.19 can be found, or what is the most "stable" version of 0.20, I'd appreciate it. I don't mind binaries, but do know how to compile from source as well. |
