I'd like to use 3 partitions with the create_lvm.sh script. Is that possible. Anybody try that? I'm running the latest knoppmyth R5E50 (i think). My primary HD is a 250 PATA and I have 2 other HD both at 120. I can't find any examples of using a setup similar. Anybody have experience in this area? |

Anyway, you'll want to be sure to go over http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=LvmHowTo and http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... =createlvm. A search for create_lvm will turn up others. Looks to me like create_lvm works with any number of arguments. |

Yes. There maybe some kind of system limit, but the script itself just takes all the partitions listed on the command line and adds them to it's list. I should probably update it not to assume /dev/hda4 anymore. |

Suceess! I backed up my myth backend server and burned the tar files to cd (I wonder if there is a better way than doing that through the terminal?) Reinstalled the backend (which is tier 1).. then followed the LVM how to, adding all 3 of my partitions as arguments. finished installation. Restored myth and DONE. now my /myth partition has 400 GB of space and 200 hours of average recording time! Nice ![]() My only thing I would recommend to others is that the backup feature of the myth does no include the actual recordings themselves. You would have to back up those yourself (which I didn't, but it wasn't anything I'm gonna miss). |
