Another noob here - I went thru the manual install - pretty straightforward and everything appeared ready to go. I try to do anything involving the tuner (ATI tv@nywhere) and the frontend gives me an error message that it can't connect to the master backend server. It asks if the backend is running and if the ip is set right in the frontend. When I set up the program I changed the backend IP to an address that would be seen on my local network. Now for two questions - 1: do I need to start the backend somehow or does it automatically start on boot? 2: where do I change the frontend IP if that's the problem? I went thru all the setup options and couldn't find IP addy options.

Check out http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=FrontendOnlyInstall the section Preparing the Backend

It tells you everything you need to know.

I had the same problem, and it is difficult to figure out how to get back to the General setup to change the two "localhost" entries into actual IP addresses. The trick is ALT - s.

It's the little things that drive you insane with software.

I've have been trying to find how to get back there and the Alt-s did the trick! I look on the page that "tells you everything you need to know" but could not find it. Thanks again!
