My setup is a p4-2gz with a pvr-350. I've set up a new frontend on a 2.4ghz with its own pvr-350. The new FE can watch anything it wants. But the BE isn't using the FE's pvr-350 to record. Why? Thanks, Abs |

Because FE only systems don't do that? You need to configure it as an SBE. It's the BE process that actually talks to the capture cards. BTW - Anticipating the next question, no, the BE on the other box can't magically locate the hardware on your FE only box and use it. For a process/program on a remote system to "use" hardware it essentially needs a local program/process to act as the middle man. |

My system was a simple FE/BE conbo with one tuner card, a pvr-350. Now I need a slave BE which I just configured but I hit a snag. My original pvr-350 on the BE is missing. Why do I only have the remote tuner now? Thanks in advance, Abs |

Ok I'm not sure why I lost the other tuner but I just re-added it on the BE and it works fine. One last question which the wiki is confusing me on.... thanks to whoever answers this. I don't understand why I can't either 1) nfs mount the master BE's /myth to the SBE's /myth, or 2) nfs mount MBE:/myth/tv to SBE:/myth/tv. Why am I mounting crap under /mnt? Thanks, Abs |
