So I recently upgraded from R5E50 to R5F27, as well as upgraded my mobo/cpu/hdd. The install was fresh on the new hdd, and since I'd kept MythTV up-to-date, I just copied my MySQL db over to the new system.

Everything works fine, except I can't view LiveTV or RecordedTV for more then a few seconds before the display goes out, and it just becomes vertical colored lines, with a bright white line in the center (I've got pics if anyone wants to see it).

A few seconds after that the system completely freezes up. There are no messages in any of the logs, and nothing on the console, no kernel panic/opps, the system just dies. Has anyone else experienced this before?

I"ll give that a try in the morning. I did lock down the IRQ to the PCI Slot so it's not sharing it with anything else. But I'll let know if this effects anything.

So I've been playing with this a little more. I didn't mention earlier that I had set NOAPIC at boot, since my syslog had been getting spamed with APIC errors. I also locked an IRQ to the card, so it's not sharing with anything else.

I ran some tests, and it seems that the problem is when anything writes to /dev/video16 for more then 5secs, everything just blows up after that. I only tried it in X, I haven't tried it at the console only.
