I recently installed R5F27 on the following hardware:

- Asus A7N8X motherboard (nforce2)
- nvidia 6600GT
- 512 MB ram
- dvico FusionHDTV5 RT Gold

I'm connected to analog cable which gets me a few unencrypted HD QAM256 channels.

When watching Live TV:
- Audio works 100% of the time in any of the HD channels.
- Audio doesn't work on the 1st SD channel that I tune to. However, if I tune to another SD channel the audio works for the duration of the Live TV session (changing channels back to the first channel I tune to produces audio).

This wouldn't bother me so much except it is affecting SD recordings. It seems since this is the first SD station that the scheduler tunes to, no audio is recorded.

I found this page on the Hauppage PVR-500 card which sounds like the exact problem that I'm having: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Ha ... _recording

That page refers to a 0.4.1 or 0.4.2 version if ivtv. I have version 0.10.5, which doesn't have the -q option.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Steve

Mods - please move this to "installation" under the mythtv section. Sorry about the newbie mistake.

There is no "installation" under "the mythtv section". Have you checked the logs? There is also ivtvctl.
Code:
ivtvctl --help

Sorry, I meant the Installation forum under the knoppmyth section. I need to get more sleep.

I now suspect my problem is due to using the passthrough cable from the tuner card into the aux audio port on my motherboard. When I do hear audio it's direct (unprocessed) from the tuner card. I was playing around more with it, and when I pause live TV, the audio doesn't pause.

So I think I need to lose the passthrough and get the audio to go over the PCI bus.

Thanks,
Steve

This doesn't belong under KnoppMyth > Installation. Sound not working on one a channel isn't an installation issue. Get more sleep.

If you are using a PVR 500, why the need for a pass thru cable? With that card, the audio and video are muxed.
