One other idea about wireless, diskless FEs. Does anyone know how I might be able to install a KnoppMyth "image" to CF that would boot up and then mount an NFS root file system? This way, the wireless USB module could be loaded allowing the FE to see the network. The USB discovery and running of the wireless module would have to be done near the beginning of the boot process. Also, the TCP/IP stack would need to be started just after the wireless module was loaded. After that, the magic of loading the rest of the system from an NFS mount would take place. Now we could have the best of both worlds; a fast boot (local [maybe even uncompressed] kernel) and a remote NFS file system (easy to update, modify, etc). I suppose that one could actually load the entire system via a KnoppMyth "image" on the FE from CF and then use unionfs to overlay NFS directories like /var, /home, and /usr/bin. Hmmm....
