I want to install my guitar hero 3 on my mythtv box. I don't have clue on how to go about this. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Should I be using wine or something like that.

If you google:
Quote:
wine "guitar hero"
You will get a link to the winehq page where others have
tried to install wine and then Guitar Hero.

To make a long story short, it doesn't work 100%.

Your other options would be to make your MythTV box dual
boot into Windows or to install windows into a virtual machine
in Linux (I personally use VirtualBox).

None of these tasks are for the faint of heart. :)

The best and easiest thing to do is to get hold of Frets On Fire for linux, and a USB-PSX adaptor so you can use your guitar on the pc.

Frets On Fire is awesome !!!!

Check it out.

You might not want to post this under installation... anyway, I've tried Guitar hero on vmware and fluxbox, without any success. They dont have the 3d capabilities needed. I did have frets on fire installed and working on my knoppmyth box. Haven't had time to re-add it since the upgrade though.
(Note: On the windows side there is "guitarzero2", which kicks frets on fires butt -not open source and windows only)
