Hi,

I'm just starting i new thread to tell you about the XBMC project. It's working under Mac, Windows PC and XBOX. There is already a new version that have built in Mythtv support (Atlantis Beta1).

Download link: http://xbmc.org/

As Goofee said in the Xbox thread:
To configure Mythtv add to video source.
Code:
myth://username:password@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

And your done for recording, program guide and also LiveTV.

There is also information about that on the Mythtv official website
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Xbox_Frontend#Running_XBMC_with_native_MythTV_Support

Really clean interface. That make a good Windows Frontend for the Knoppmyth Backend. I found that our good friend Davilla is working to port XBMC to the Appletv. Sound really great but i think i will prefer the Knoppmyth frontend for the appleTV.

Your feedback is welcome :P

Bob, I just installed XBMC and tried it against myR5.5 backend. THis is a very slick product, but I am running into a problem. When I play back a standard-def recording on my LCD monitor, playback is not smooth when the scene pans. I've tried multiple deinterlace options, including "deinterlace", "auto", "bob" and "bob inverse", but can't get a smooth pan.

Have you seen this problem?

Marc

Hi Marc,

I don't have this issue. Be sure to have the latest build (Beta 2). RC1 is suposed to come really soon.

Have a look under Setting, Interface, Screen and enable Vsync.

Maybe your PC is under power. The final version should be better. I don't know on what platform you're using it...

If your in trouble check the forum:

By the way it's working great on my AppleTV :-)
Big thanks to Scott Davilla!

Hope it help a bit

Hi Bob, thanks for the quick response. THe system is an Intel Q6600 2.4ghz quad-core with 4gb RAM running windows Vista premium and an Nvidia 7300 card. It has sufficient processing power. Vsync is enabled. It looks like things are smooth with playback of interlaced video and that the problem only occurs with telecined video. (ie, The Nanny looks for; Battlestar Glalectica has problems). I am running beta2 -- just downloaded and installed it today.

I'll try posting to that forum to see if anyone has any suggestions.

XBMC release has been tagged but it's waiting on some packaging issues so it has not hit the downloads yet. Few more days.

I found a threadwhere other's are reporting a similar problem, but I don't see any solutions. I suspect the issue is improper de-interlacing of telecined video...
