HEllo.

Ive recently installed R5.5 on my backend server and as i had it before(with version r5b7) i want glftpd (ftpserver) installed as well.

glftpd insatallation scripts says at the end:
"Restarting inetd . . . Failed! You must restart inetd before using glftpd."

But it seems that inetd is not installed/activated in R5.5...
(not present in /etc/init.d/. )
Im not a linux guru so i might be wrong here.
there is a /etc/inetd.conf present (which is edited by glftpd insallation script)
but i dont see any inetd process running with ps either.

must i manually install inetd for it to work? or xinitd?
will I break anything in knoppmyth by installing?

/Martin

I got it working.

I was looking for "inet" under /etc/init.d/ when it was openbsd-inet i should have looked for.
i just started it and glftpd started working.

thanx bobmyth
