Hello,
I still have problems with /dev/video0
I've followed numerious suggestions.
I can do a "dd" from video0 to video16, but all I see is snow.
I've verified that I have simple cable.
I've even attempted to do a ptune.pl, to set the channel/frequency, but I get "segmentfault".
Can anyone make any suggestions?

not with that information. We don't even know what hardware you are using. or where you are located ntsc/pal .
