Hi everyone,

I'm currently following this HOW-TO:
http://losdos.dyndns.org:8080/public/my ... _LIRC.html

I can get everything to compile, and I even get to:
$ /usr/local/lirc-ledxmit/bin/ledxmit-irsend SEND_ONCE JVC_RAW 2
you should see messages as such:
May 4 22:32:04 mythtv ledxmitd 0.7.0pre4: accepted new client on /dev/ledxmitd
May 4 22:32:04 mythtv ledxmitd 0.7.0pre4: removed client

However, nothing changes on my receiver.

I'm using the following commercial product that a friend of mine has used with KnoppMyth to change a cable box.
http://resolution.extendedsystems.com/e ... dapter.htm

My motherboard is a ECS K7SEM and the documentation that came with it says that the serial port I'm using is COM1 so everything I've done to set it up according to the HOW-TO is for COM1.

Anyone have any other suggestions as to why I can't get the test "2" to appear on my receiver?

Thanks in advance!

Hoyd,

i was recently asked by someone else whether the "jeteye" would work with my HOWTO; i'll cut-n-paste my reply here...

Code:

hope that helps some. please let me know what's inside if you do take it apart. ps: the guy i replied to above set it aside and instead rolled his own transmitter using the radio shack LED.

ps, you wrote:

ok, well now we know the answer...

as of 2003-05-11...
the jeteye uses the lirc_sir driver, which only outputs a 38KHz IR stream.
the DISH receivers require a 56KHz IR stream.

reference:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/mess ... id=4629540

in any case, the LIRC you compiled using my process does not include the lirc_sir driver, only the lirc_serial driver. so as compiled it will not work, and it can't work. instead, try following the (terse) instructions under the "Actisys" note in the preface of my document linked above, and compile in the lirc_sir driver. possibly, and hopefully, the lirc_sir driver has been updated since 2003-05-11 to handle a 56KHz IR stream.

Hi wrooster,

I'm actually the same guy that emailed you. I guess I should have updated this forum post to let you and everyone else know that and that it's working now.

Thanks for the help!
