Hello all - thinking this is an install question, although maybe it should be under myth - anyway....... Downloaded r4v5 iso burned a cd and did the auto install on a pos video box I built. It's got a soyo board, 2.53gHz celeron, 512meg ram and a 200gig hdd. Brooktree 848 chipset tuner, and a brooktree 848 capture card (yes 2 cards) - I verified that debian sees all the devices and that everythings pointed where it should be. Here's the prob - I can successfully watch static on all channels, myth won't play a dvd or a cd/vcd and when I try to populate the tv listings mythfilldatabase returns a bunch of "unauthorized" errors. I've scanned the forums and the wiki and there's comments on fixing individual problems (much of which I tried) but there doesn't seem to be anyone having all these probs at once. Any suggestions on where to start? |

Your problems are not connected to one another, so your process of scanning the forum and wiki for each individual issue will bear fruit. I suggest the "DVD won't play" issue is likely the problem that we can't have a decryption program installed on the system by default (US laws) and the mythfilldatabase issue might be a problem with your account with zap2it.com.
