I get this error when I try to use ivtv-0.1.10-100z driver. I am trying to use this driver so as to avoid some of the freeze errors on tv out of 350.

My X failes to initialize on 350's tv out by saying

(EE) FBDEV(0) mmap fbmem Invalid argument
(EE) FBDEV(0) Map vid mem failed

And then
Fatal Server error
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

Can somebody please explain what should I change in XF86Config-4 or ivtv config file to get around this error?

I am using driver & x config from this thread:
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1057

Nothing else done. Please help. Thanks

I had the same problem and found the answer that helped me.

This mail archive http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ht=ivtvdev
states that fbdev is no longer supported.

This post tells how to install ivtvdev

Enjoy! :D
