Well, as I install Knoppmyth I run into problems. Right after file copy finishes, the screen goes blank (not a reboot) and so I punch the keyboard. A few lines come back, and an incomplete one, and then blackness. The caps lock and scroll lock keys blink at about 1 Hz and the numlock light stays off. The machine becomes unresponsive and requires a hard reboot. Other distros don't seem to have an issue. What should I do? |

well two options. 1) hit the shift key every so often, so the screen never blanks, or 2) do alt+f2 to get an empty console and issue the command setterm -blank 0 to keep the screen from blanking. |

I don't think it is merely the screen blanking that is causing the problem... as it happens immediately after file copy every time, whether I do something to reset the counter or not. 
I'll give it a shot anyway... but why would screen blanking hang a system? |

long story, but the fact is that in the current release of knoppmyth it does on some setups. |

Well, making the console not blank allowed the install to complete. Thanks for the help.
