Hi, I'm using a soundblaster 5.1 with mythtv. I can get sound when I play mp3's through myth, but there is no sound at all from the TV. Has anyone got ideas? |

Have you tried to look at the mixer settings? Look in myth config section on the frontend. Also use alsa-mixere from the command like (ssh or such works well) |

I'd checked the mixer, but it didn't seem to solve the problem. However then I checked it again and discovered that input settings were wrong. I ended up muting line1, but clicking on the line button for it. I also muted everything else apart from CD and IGain. I had to set IGain to halfway. Not sure why this has to be done, it seemed that sound constantly came from the tv card even when myth wasn't launched. As for as Input goes I had to mute OGain to stop some other sound problems. When I played music, the sound wouldn't mute or adjust. Does anyone know why Myth always sets PCM to full when you start playing music or watching tv? As for the duplicate post, I must have accidently pressed submit twice, sorry. |

mythtv sets either main or pcm whichever you choose to the level you choose in the setup. to change it go to setings general. |
