I've got an R5A12 installation working, and am generally quite pleased with the result. I'd like to (a) upgrade to MythTV 0.18, and (b) configure and build from source for better performance. (I also have a SATA hard drive, which required a manual install and subsequent fiddling, making me reluctant to try "auto upgrade" to the next KnoppMyth.) I notice that KnoppMyth includes what appear to be diffs from the released MythTV, so I'm concerned whether a direct configure/make/make install from sources will have unforeseen consequences. Can anyone advise on this? |

As long as you follow the MythTV installation instructions, you should have no difficulties. You won't see the KnoppMyth menu option. |

I upgraded my R5A12 install to Mythtv 0.18 before R5A15 was out. The only problem I had was the build failed when the --enable-firewire option was chosen (which I believe is the default). |
