Everything seems to be in place and installed fine it appears.

First off this box does not have a tuner card all I want to do is rip dvd's and use it to consolidate my dvd's to a hard drive array off in a closet.

Problem #1 dvd's will play but in french ?!?

Problem #2 can get to dvd rip screen but when I hit 0 nothing happens.

Can someone help me out on this.. I've tried searching but nobody seems to have the exact #2 issue I'm having. Still researching the #1 problem.

Thanks

For #1, search for recent posts regarding mplayer.

(i seem to recall there's a command line option you can add to the mythtv config that will help)

Xine is also included in the latest releases so you can replace the mplayer line with
Code:
xine -pfhq dvd:/

for menu support and some extra features.

I'll try that also would be nice to see the menu's..

I got the mplayer to work using -aid 128 and it plays the english.

Next step is getting a dvi to hdmi cable and getting it to display correctly on the hdtv..

Then will be (bleh it's hot here already) running a jack down to the av box behind the tv (Attic work) but the house backbone is gigabit..

Also interested in streaming movies to work :) I got FIOS here and my upload for some reason is 3.5 Mbit hehe.. bet I could work something out.

Yeah the problem there was it is trying to rip to a nonexistant directory. Go into the dvd settings and put /myth/video and it should work after that.

I'm pretty sure in the log there was something that made it obvious. I'm actually working out my Firefly remote configs and I'm trying to get working with my LCD computer screen again so I can work things out quicker than working off the tv.

just watch and I'll post what I did (I have to look)

Any luck on this one? I am having the same problem. My guess is it has something to do with my Title Playing Command, but not really sure...
