Hey....this is my first time using KnoppMyth. I have been running myth on Fedora for 2 years. So far it rocks. I had my backend setup in a few minutes, which is muuuch quicker than before. However I am having a small problem... I need to start my modified remoted (for IR200L channel changing) at boot time along with a couple other apps for xbox streaming. Normally I would throw the script into /etc/rc.local. Checked an no rc.local on KnoppMyth. touch /etc/rc.local and edited, rebooted, nothing (it didnt run). What am I missing here or is there another method with KnoppMyth. BTW..running latest release. thanks, bill b |

Different init system... - Put a wrapper script that understands "start", "stop", and "restart" options in /etc/init.d the lirc one is probably a decent example. - Either use the utility (whose name escapes me - a search here should turn it up), or webmin, or manually symlink to it from the /etc/rcN.d for the appropriate run level(s). I'm hoping that since you seem to know enough about one flavor of init to ask the question that you did, that this will be enough to get you started... |

another place people tend to add things like that is at the end of /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh |
