I have a pvr 250 remote (silver) that has several quick key buttons i.e. Tv, Videos, Music, Pictures, Guide etc. Is it possible to set up Mythtv so that when i press the Guide button it goes straight to the EPG no matter what part of Mythtv i am currently at, same goes for the other buttons. I guess what it needs is a key combination, i.e always go back to the main menu, then option 1,2,3 etc etc, not sure if you can chain commands together in lirc As always any help appreciated Thanks |

Actually, there's a better system than chaining key combos together (which would be almost impossible, since you'd want to be able to get there from anyplace). Go to mythweb (http://address-of-mythtv/mythweb), click on the settings (keychain+wrench icon), go to key bindings, and add a key for the program guide jumppoint. It suggests using a key combo with ALT/CTRL, etc., but doesn't say how one specifies such combos. ALT+X/CTRL+X works (probably META+X as well, but I haven't tried). Then tweak your lirc settings (~mythtv/.lircrc) to send that key. |

Thanks thats excellent!!, one question though, there doesnt appear to be an option for Main Menu, that would be real handy, is there anyway of defining a key to go straight to the Main menu?. |

Someone asked that exact question a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if it was fully resolved, but there were a couple of suggestions as to how it could be done. Perhaps raising it on the mythtv-dev mailing list may prompt someone to put the main menu in as a jump point. I suspect it would be trivial for someone familiar with the code. |
