Post subject:  Newbie questions

1. How to change channels while watching live tv? Using the guide to change channels?
2. tv-out on separate video card doesn’t work (nVidia Geforce mx440)
3. audio isn’t working after plugging cable from line out to line in…audio works on other programs
4. any help for the dwl-520+ card would be great

1. You can just press the number of the channel you want. Does that not work for you? Using the guide to change channels is not that intuitive. Press Menu and select "Program Guide" to bring up the guide, go to the channel you want and press menu again. This will exit the menu and switch to the channel you had highlighted.

2. Did you install the Nvidia drivers? Have you configured your XF86Config file correctly? Did you make the necessary change to /etc/lilo.conf, and lilo -v afterwards? Getting the TV-out to work has been covered exhaustively on the forum and the wiki.

3. Not sure what you mean here, the line out of your case to the line in of what? A receiver?

4. Can't help you there. A quick search for dwl-520+ turns up a helpful thread. Take my advice and search for these things before posting new questions, otherwise Cecil will be along to scold you.

the out of sync audio is generally because you don't have it configured correctly. you need to make sure line in is set as capture device and muted. you can do that with alsamixer
