most likely you were using one of the drivers that is not included in the stock kernel. Cesman tries to make things easy on people and thus has included three or four additional drivers with knoppmyth that do not come in the stock linux kernel. you'll have to find out what driver your card uses and recompile the driver for your new kernel. |

The thing was when I first installed knoppix mythtv my onboard network card was working and also my usb netgear MA111.... the reason why I had to update the kernel cause my PC was locking up with the twinhan.... and I did copy my .config file and just remove laptop support and compile for amd Athlon I tried to run apt-get install wlan-linux-ng but same thing reboot and says unknown device sit0.... so your saying there is no way to install the module unless I rebuild the kernel again? |

no I'm saying you have to recompile the kernel module you don't have to recompile the whole kernel. besides linux-wlan-ng is just the programs what you'll need is the modules source so you can compile them. |
