Post subject: | Installing KnoppMyth for Dish Network. Questions.. |
Hello, I am trying to set-up KnoppMyth for Dish Network, and I am not sure what setting to use for the Channel Frequency Table. I realize that as of right now, I would have to run through the reciever to the computer, but I was also looking for a way to run directly from my dish, to my computer. I know they make boxes that allow for this to happen, but I am not sure where I can find them. Thanks! |

If they make a box to allow that to happen I've never heard of it. For sat you have to use the sat box and then output to your mythtv box somehow cable/svid/composite. the only time you have to worry about tuning is if you are using coax to connect to your mythtv box then you would tune to channel 3/4 whatever the sat box needs. |

I have 2 DIshnetwork receivers connected to my mythbox. You will want to run the coax out of the receiver to the coax in of the PVR card (I use 250's). Make sure that the card is set to channel 3 or 4 and you will be set. As far as the table, I think I used broadcast-cable. I'm not in front of it so can't tell right now. Just make sure to go onto zap2it and create your account and setup your channels there first. |

Why wouldn't you use an RCA or S-video connection from the satellite box to the PVR's inputs? I would think that would give a higher-quality signal than RF modulated... |
