Post subject: | Artec T1 - USB Digital TV Box (Freeview) |
Hi, I bought one of these last week from Dixons. I would dearly love to get it working with Myth, but am having some problems. I am hoping that there are some others out there with the same issues - ideally having solved them ![]() So far, I believe that I need to use a special version of the Kernel, which includes drivers for USB DTV. This was based on information found here: http://www.wi-bw.tfh-wildau.de/~pboettch/home/index.php?site=dvb-usb Following the instructions didn't get me very far - I managed to recompile the kernel (I think). However, I don't see the device being recognised by the system (dmesg) and the LED on the box is not going on. |

I'm having just the same problem... I now use the stick with Ubuntu 6.06, and it works like a charm. I had to manually compile and install dvb-v4l and download the firmware. A friend of mine told he got it working in Gentoo by removing the drivers from the kernel and installed them as kernel module... Or something like that... I'll check out that link, too. Thanks! |

I got it working! 1) Compile kernel with DVB and DABUSB _removed_, I used "make xconfig" to get a nice GUI. Yes, this may sound unlogical, but this it the way it works! As said in http://www.wi-bw.tfh-wildau.de/~pboettch/home/index.php?site=dvb-usb-howto: "everything you need is in v4l-dvb" 2) Reboot to your newly-compiled kernel 3) Get v4l-dvb source package from http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb - click "tree" link, then "bz2" or "gz" - and decompress it to desired location. 4) Compile the whole lot:
cd ~/v4l-dvb make all make install
5) Plug in, baby! OK, I'm not sure if I still have to remove the old kernel modules, since sometimes I have to reconnect my Artec T14 device to get the light on... But when it gets, it's all working. The rest is up to MythTV configuration skills... ![]() |
