This post is very vague. I'm assuming to cd to /mnt/cdrom, ./configure && make && make install (or something like that). Of course this isn't going to work, you'll need to copy the "driver" on to the hard drive.

Mount the CD and use the normal Unix commands. This assumes that:

1) You know which device the CD is or your /et/fstab is set up correctly. Your boot log "/var/log/dmesg" will tell you where it was detected. If it's an IDE/PATA optical drive try:
Code:
grep hd /var/log/dmesg

2) You know how to use at least basic Unix commands like ls and cp (for more details "man ls" or "man cp" )

3) You're not doing something utterly off target like trying to install MS-Windows drivers. (Firmware which gets loaded into a PVR card is a different matter.)

However you haven't given us much detail to work with. "How do I wash the moon" may be a perfectly reasonable question given enough context, but your questions lack enough context for us to do more than guess what answer you're looking for.

We've gone from ethernet driver to video card driver. What are you trying to do? Perhaps some hardware details would be helpful. While your system may include drivers, you may not need them. Again posting hardware details would be helpful.

SOrry.... It looks like im gonna just use suse 9.2 I guess it has drivers for my video card included..From what i can tell the video card drivers are very picky on what kernel to use....while i could compile my own....Im no where near comfortable doing so

Again you are being vague. If you want help, what hardware do you have? Else good luck w/ SUSE.
