Post subject:  Run commands as root during booting?

Hi!
I have a problem that's irritating me. To be able to use my remote I must run /etc/init.d/lirc very late during booting (probably the /dev/event number is changing during the boot process - if I start lirc by doing 'update-rc.d lirc' it uses the wrong event number. But if I call lirc from the command prompt with the event number in /proc/bus/input/devices everything is OK. I've written a script that finds this event number, but when using it during bootup it gets the wrong number :-(. From command line it' OK). So I want to run this script just before the startup of mythfrontend. I've tried .fluxbox/apps. Doesn't work. Same thing with bootmisc.sh. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the scipt has to be run as root (at least I need to do that from the command line). Is there a way to run commands as root in .fluxbox/apps or bootmisc.sh?
