Hi,

After consulting my crystal ball concerning your problem it came up with the following possibilities:

1) Power cord unplugged
2) Wrong BIOS setting (boot device)
3) Keyboard error with 'halt on all errors' enabled in the BIOS
4) Install on SATA disk
5) Bad burn of the download

More information is needed to leave the crystal ball in the box...

Fiete

I'm having the same issue. I've done both the auto and the manual install. I have an ide drive for the primary master and one for the primary slave.

DVD for the secondary master.
I do have a wireless NIC
nvidia 6600gt graphics card
hauppauge 150mce

It says it's successful, but when I attempt to reboot, it just hangs on
Verifying DMI pool data. ???

I was successful in installing a regular version of Knoppox.

Any suggestions?

At least you gave more information... Check your BIOS, ensure it is set to boot from your hard drive. Disable PnP as well.

Seems to be common glitch in R5A26, I have seen quite a few posts about it. I have also had it happen to me. It installs ok but never boots LILO. I tried R5A16 and it worked ok but have also read that taking off slave drive allows it to boot. Possibly a glitch in the release?????

Common glitch? I have not seen many people report this issue... How can it be a glitch when the error above occurs at the system boot up process?

hell here are 3 people in one post. THis is not the only post about it either

this post relates to it also at the start (strays a little onto x window problem)
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7102

also this one (its talking about A22 which I didnt have probs with)
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6623

and others I cant find now *LOL*

With it there is a workaround, no biggie but just wanted a heads up so that the powers that be can check when they get chance to make sure its not problem (probably just specific hardware setups - like dual HDs).

it helps if responses are not on the defensive side though not slagging program or programmers - I LIKE the program and realise the guys that do this are busy, using their free time and dont need peeps bitching at em.

Defensive?! Sorry if I seem that way, but it is hard for me to see how this could be a glitch when the BIOS hasn't passed control to the OS....

I dont know though, I think it has passed control as it has went through the full bios bootup process then just sits on a flashing cursor. Although it could be that its not handling the two drives in CS mode. I am going to try it with Just one drive tonight and see if thatresolves problem. If so I then will mess with getting other drive in and joined to video folder.

Some BIOS/HD combos want CS some want MA/SL. The old Nforce2 based Shuttle box (SN41G2) utterly refused to boot my WD drive when it was jumpered MA, and worked without a hitch when it was jumpered CS. I've also had problems that went the other way with previous systems (CS didn't work, MA did). Sometimes you've just got to try both to figure out which works.
