Ok specs as follows Mobo Asus A7V8X-X Proc - Athlon 2400XP RAM - 512MB Video - Asus FX5200 HD - 80Gb and 120 GB Knoppmyth - R5A26 Tuner 1 - pvr 500 - used for viewing and recording Tuner card 2 - Win TV go - used for remote control only I have used LVM to join the 2 hard disks to give me 180Gb for /myth. that works ok. Issue I have with it is more a cosmetic one it now shows it looking through every other drive definition when starting eg /dev/SDA9... is there any way to edit the config to stop it looking at them (im still a little fresh at linux) Major issue Im having is with my wireless NIC. I am using ndiswrapper and initially on install it works and I can do mythfilldatabase. After first reboot though It loads the ndsiwrapper and runs dhclient successfully and gets its IP address as it should but then as the boot up process continues it looks as if it resets ndiswrapper and the usb ports. I have had it occasionally (read 1 out of 5 or 6 reboots) where it will once again load ndiswrapper but not the dhclient but as I say this is only every 5 or 6 reboots. If I go in and attempt to do it manually it tells me that the driver is loaded (doesnt show hardware pressent though - the usb reconfigure perhaps???) tried modporbe -r ndiswrapper to remove then modprobe ndiswrapper. It works partially but doesnt seem to do as it should and no device is present on WLAN0. Unfortunatly there is no way to get wired net to this area and I need to use wlan. Any help is most appreciated as R5A26 is working a dream otherwise. Other inconvenience is that I used to use R5A16 on different mobo and it would loose connectiuon every so often (reboot would fix) on the times I have had R5A26 running with the NIC it seems to do it also. My workaround has been to keep a SSH session to it and it keeps running. HEEEEEEELP *grin* Steve ![]() |

ok update, I was able to remove ndiswrapper from modprobe , unplug nic then replug and modprobe sees it properly and its currently on. Have left a putty session connected to see if it stays on over 24 hours |

Someone posted a fix to that string of errors that displays when you do LVM. It's a modification to some config file. I tried a few searches and couldn't turn it up, but it's here in the forum somewhere (and should probably get added to the LVM wiki page if someone gets a chance). |

ceenvee703 & Cesman, Thank you I found the post and will deal with the LVM issue tonight. Cesman, apologies on the multiple issues in the post. I will consider this post answered and will post another message specifically on the network issue as I really need help on this as even setting up the box to ping out every 30 seconds does not keep it alive for more than a few hours |
