Changing channels is really slow. From keypress to change is something like 2-5 secs. I'm used to my old Tivo (which died, hence the MythTv) which changed channels immediately.

Is this a known issue with the PVR-350 board or MythTV?

BTW, I'm using the TV-Out on the 350 and that is all working just fine.

Any suggestions?

It's a result of the disk buffering behaviour and independant of the type of capture card. The general solution is to modify your channel surfing habits and use the program guide or browse mode. Both are actually much more effective when you come down to it.

I spent a lot of time looking for this setting, so I'm documenting its exact location for those who are searching. This path speaks to ver. R5A26.

Utilities/Setup > Setup > TV Settings > Playback

You wouldn't think it'd be in playback. At least, I didn't. :?

Just a bad mental model of how this stuff works. Since EVERYTHING including "live TV" is really a recording and playback...

Or maybe I've been doing this stuff too long... ;-)
