Hi all, i would like to add some games to my mythtv setup and i have found a site with some on! http://games.linux.sk http://www.happypenguin.org/ but some of the games need to be built first and im unsure how or what i need to do to get them working!... i would like to get these games working! http://netpanzer.berlios.de/tuxkart/ http://foobillard.sunsite.dk/ but i cant seam to get them to compile as i need the libs and etc.. can someone help as im sure there are a few more that would like to add some games... thanks |

What every game it is you choose to add, you need to read the 'README' or 'INSTALL' after untarring the source. These will have directions on installing the game (general ./configure, make and make install) and what dependencies the program may have. Depending on the game, it maybe available as a Debian package. You can try the following: Code: apt-get update If the game is available:apt-cache search tuxkart Code: apt-get install tuxkart

thanks the apt-cache & get work a treat! only thing is i would still like to no how to get some tar.gz files working! the main one would be racer 050 http://www.racer.nl/ and is not in the apt-cache and the only release i can find is in tar.gz format and i never seem able to get software compiled. |
