Have an Atmel wireless USB Stick. I have installed the Linux drivers from the manufacturer. I run lsusb, it sees the hardware as an 802.11 wireless device. I have installed Wireless tools v.26. When I run iwconfig, I get io no wireless extentions sit0 no wireless extentions. What am I doing wrong? Please Help |

You'll have to excuse me I'm a Newbe. I ran make modules modules_install the other night and it ran for about 4 hours installing. I should have the module for just about everything on there. |

If you installed the drivers from the manufacturer, then you should know the name. Running lsmod | grep name where name=the name of the module (in a 2.6 kernel this is usually something.ko) will tell you if something is loaded. Alternatively you can make sure it's loaded by doing a modprobe name where name is the name of the .ko file but without the .ko (e.g. if the module name is zd1211.ko then you would do modprobe zd1211). You might try looking over at this page: http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/ |
