What is the name of the script that runs when knoppmyth configs the system? Specifically, I'd like to re-run the lirc setup (where it asks which remote you have). I have a PVR-250 and selected (if memory serves me) option 16 which was for hauppauge, then option b which was for gray remote. Lirc is running just fine, it just isn't working with my remote.

Thanks for any advice and help.

Dude! After over 2 years and nearly 400 postings you are supposed to know better than to post stuff like this under the Installation topic, and well enough to search for "lirc" and find "lirc-reconfig.sh".

Thanks for the info, tjc. I posted under installation because it happened when I "auto upgraded" so I felt this was an appropriate section. I did search under lirc but got over 600 hits.

BTW, I know now why my remote doesn't work -- it wasn't the fault of the install script either: my PVR-250 is fried (doesn't view live tv or capture any show -- just black screen. When I installed my new NIC (bad card) it took out the 250, and the on board audio.

Side story:
I ordered 3 of the Dlink 530T cards to use with my new gs-108 gigalan router and one of them was "bad" i.e. neither LINUX (knoppmyth) could use it, nor Windows could use it. The NIC didn't hurt my windows box so I assumed it [the NIC] may not be compatible with the older board in that machine has (thinking it wasn't PCI 2.x). Like a fool, I installed it in my masterbackend and tried to get it up and running. None of the diagnostic lights on the card would light up even after loading the correct kernel mod for the card.

I switched it for one of the other NICs and the new one worked like a charm... too bad my on board audio stopped working, as did my PVR-250. It's out of warranty (2 years I believe) so I'll have to fork over the $125 to replace it. Shi*ty story.

Golly gee.. Nice Flame! You would think that with almost two years and over 3000 posts, you would be sick of answering the same question over and over again.. and would sit down an write a wiki page that documents the restart scripts, so the rest of us would know what to kick-start to get the installation going again. Seriously, Thank you for your support! I'll give you an "A+" for persistence! .. and thanks for the hint on #1 installation script .. maybe I'll get that darn remote working!
