I'm in the process of setting up a KnoppMyth server R5B7, but am having some installation issues. Here are some of the specs. Abit KD7A AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 512MB RAM 80GB Western Digital HD Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 Emprex DVD RW S3 Video Card During the installation process, I get an Segmentation Fault error, but the installation continues. Then I get an No CLE266 VGA VGA adapter found. Installation still continues. Then after partitioning and formatting the HD, the File Copy process begins. Copying is going along great until it gets to 71%. Everything hangs at that point. No CD Activity. Also, sometimes when I attempt to reinstall, the cursor spins and moves to the right and leaves a green background. This continues even through the Auto Install input screens(making it difficult to tell what I'm typing for usernames and passwords). Any ideas as to how to fix these issues? Thanks. |

When you boot from the cd select "knoppmyth vga=normal testcd" or if you are installing on a tv, "tv vga=normal testcd". I had a similar problem with earlier versions of knoppmyth, and this did the trick. Probably a video card specific problem. Also, have you downloaded a memtest iso and booted into that to do a memory test to check that your hardware is stable? |
