Hi, everyone.

I've just completed setting up my first MythTV (knoppmyth). Per some instructions that I was following, I don't have the url, I was instructed to create 4 partitions: sda1 (10GB), sda2 (750MB, swap), sda3 (10GB, cache) and sda4 (200GB, myth).

However, all of my recordings, pictures, etc, are all being stored on my partition sda1 instead of sda4. How can I change that and not have to re-partition everything and start over?

Thank you in advance for any help.
Alvin

Hi,
Those were older suggestions for earlier versions. Check in the pamphlet and do a manual format of sda4. I believe it is on Xsecrets wiki also. once you have it formatted, you have to mount it /mnt/sda4 so you can copy the /myth directory and structure. would be something simular to:
cp -al /myth/* /mnt/sda4/

When finished, edit /etc/fstab and add or change so you have a line:
/dev/sda4 /myth ext3 auto,users,exec 0 0

After saving it, do:
umount /mnt.sda4
mount /myth
df -h will show status
ls -al /myth should show your "stuff"

Hope it helps.. serial is manual all the way.
Mike
after thought, you can install Ubuntu / Edubuntu in the cache partition for a dual boot but you do loose the KnoppMyth spash screen as it uses grub loader instead of lilo.. If you have younger kids, go with the Edubuntu version :)
