I've searched around and i'm sure this is painfully simple, but i haven't found a definitive answer, and i'd rather ask first than mess up a working system :)

I had a single dvico DVB-T lite tuner that has been working fine. THis weekend when upgrading to R5C7 i took the opportunity to add a second tuner -- same card.

I did the following:

-go into mythtv-setup.

-add a new capture card - DVB1. The system has detected the tuner properly. Leave all the same values as DVB0 (original tuner).

-i already have one video source (tv_grab_au). In the input connections I link it to DVB1 (the same as DVB0).

Should that be it? Do i need to scan for channels in the second input connection as well? That didn't make sense to me, since the channels don't have source or card specific information in them.

Like i said -- i'm missing something really simple here but i haven't seen a good multi-tuner howto. Currently, if the original card is recording and i try to watch tv, the screen flips black for a fraction of a second and returns to the main menu. Previously, with only 1 card it would give you the warning that all the tuners are occupied.

Any pointers appreciated!
Cheers-- j

just make sure both cards are set to the same input and thats it, no need to scan again or anything like that

Final result:

-delete all cards.
-delete all channels.
-re-ad the cards
-re-tune the channels.

Everything is working fine now.

When adding second card did you actually select the second card in setup?ie. Card #1 not #0 in the Add DVB card screen.
