Can someone tell me how the "analog options" works with a DVB card? My AirStar HD 5000 is an ATSC and QAM tuner (apparently no NTSC). BUT I also have a PVR-150 card in the system.

I noticed that if I add in the PVR card, I now see:

DVB (0)
v4l -> input 1
v4l -> Svideo

etc (or something like it) in my input settings.

Can I (do I?) assign the v4l input under the DVB card? If so, does this then mean that the system is "smart" enough so that if I say, type channel 23, it will use the PVR-150 card instead of trying to use the DVB card? (ie, no more having to manually hit Y to switch inputs).

I have a 2 tuner system -- one tuner is a PVR-250 and the other is an Airstar HD 5000 ATSC/QAM tuner. When I select a channel that is only available on one of the tuners, myth will automatically use the tuner that is able to receive that channel.

I do not believe you can use the Airstar HD 5000 card to tune analogue / NTSC transmissions.

hurnik, one more item. Assuming the PVR-150 card is a Hauppauge PVR-150 card, make sure you added it as card type "mpeg2 encoder card (PVR-x50, PVR-500)" when you created it in the "capture card" sections of the setup routine.

Yes, did all that (added as the right card this time).

You are correct, the AirStar does not do NTSC

Is that what the "analog options" under a DVB card are for?

Or are you SUPPOSED to actually fill that stuff out when you setup the inputs?

I'm fairly certain that when I setup Myth with JUST the DVB card that I do not see a V4L section under the DVB card. Only after I added the PVR-150 card (but I could be wrong).

I'm pretty sure I'd seen in one of the setup guides to fill that out.

I'll try using it tonight by just switching to the analog channel.

I am running R5D1 and I do not see any "analog options" or "V4L" options in the setup screens for my DVB card.

It appears your /dev/videoX numbers have changed because of the new card. You need to set your HD 5000 to a DVB/ATSC type card, while the PVRx50 to the Hardware Encoder PVRx50 card.
