I just purchased a Air2Pc .2 card and a AverTVHD card. I'm having a lot of issues pulling any OTA channels on either, so I'd like to try to grab QAM on the AverTV card. Can I plug the coax straight from the wall into the AverTV card in order to grab QAM channels, or do I have to route through my digital cable box? If so, how would you input the HD signal from the cable box into the AverTV card? |

QAM goes right into the tuner card, not through the box. You'll only get "in the clear" QAM channels. There will be lots of channels that don't seem to do anything. Be sure to set the signal type to "US Cable" instead of "US Broadcast". The only way to get a HD signal from a cable box is via Firewire, which may or may not be active/working/useful. |
