I have my comcast cable split 5 ways since I have 2 HD5000 cards and I have a few cable boxes throughout the house.

Anyway, for the most part my recordings come out perfect, but sometimes (maybe 1 out of 20 recordings) I get a recording with 0 byte size. I'm wondering if this is due to the HD5000 card trying to grab a signal at the start of the recording, but the signal is below a certain threshold at that exact point in time.

Being that the signal never drops in the middle of a recording, I was wondering if there was a way to lower the threshold and tell Myth to record whatever it gets anyway. I'd rather end up with a recording that is garbled for the first few seconds than lose the entire show.

I use high quality splitters and cables. I've tried a signal amplifier, but that didn't seem to fix the problem.

Don't know if it will help, but there are some settings under TV Settings -> General -> Advanced (4th page) that allow you to adjust ATSC threshold, Time limit for ATSC signal lock, etc.
