Short answer, the HDMI output isn't usable.
I've seen some rumblings about an HDMI capture card, but if the input is encrypted, the input card doesn't work. Odds are your sat box would use encryption. -- and the card is pretty expensive.

I've got three boxes running off the output from SD satboxes: 3 RCA composite & stereo plugs. Looking ahead to my upgrade path... I was informed by someone who has one, that the output fom his HD satbox is HDMI... direct to his display. How is the output from one of these boxes connected into a HD tunercard on a (HD) Mythbox ? |
