It is possible to use the 2 tuners with only one antenna (with a splitter)? Or not?
If yes, is there a specific splitter?

Yes you can with a splitter however; you are going to cut your signal in half. If you have a strong signal it will work. If you don't have a strong signal you will need an amp. The amp should be located next to the antenna, so that it boost the best signal possible.

If you have a splitter, give it a try if your signals drop to low look for an amp.

BTW all amps are not created equal. Some of the inexpensive one will add a lot of noise take note of there specifications when purchasing one.

Of course you could always build an additional antenna. It is cheap and give you the advantage of pointing them in different directions if yours towers aren’t located together.

I've never had a problem going the splitter route. The HDHR seems good at working with a split signal this way.

Certainly.

strong / 2 = ok
weak / 2 = really lame


If your antenna is too small, too low, too far from the tuner (cable length), too far from the transmitter, behind a big building, hill, or tree, then you're going to have crap when you split it.

Use a bigger antenna, two antennas, shorter cable, pre-amp.

I am 11 mi from the towers, have a big CM 4228 on the roof, 35' RG-6 quadshield cable, pre-amp, and I can split the resulting signal 5 ways, and I'm still ok. YMMV.

It's an indoor antenna, I'm behind, between buildings and trees. I'm 3 mi from the towers. For now, I only need one tuner, but there will be more OTA channels in 2008. It will look for a second antenna.
