Hi!
iam using a Point of view atom 330 / ion based mainboard with a skystar hd2 pci card. the distribution is linHES r6. MKV and other hd content works fine, but if i try to watch HDTV in mythtv (SDTV is fine too) the video hangs every second. the cpu usage is at 100%. can someone help me please?! iam trying to get this work for a week now, with no result! if i try this: "mplayer -vo vdpau dvb://ARTEHD" it works either. mplayer is idle for about 10 min. and then he says "Video: NoVideo" and he just play the sound. thanks in advance for your help and please excuse my poor english :-)

I'm not familiar with that board. What is the graphics GPU on it and is it VDPAU enabled? If so, do you have mythtv/mplayer setup to use VDPAU? That will offload the vast majority of your video decoding from the CPU to the GPU.

its the Nvidia ION chipset and yes, vdpau is enabled. i think mplayer uses vdpau out of the box on linhes r6, because i can watch mkv files at ca. 25% cpu usage. when i tried this with mplayer(without vdpau support) on a different distribution the usage is at ca. 100%. when i watch hdtv with the mythtvfrontend the cpu load is 100% and the video playback hangs every second. wich player uses the mythfrontend for livetv? can add vdpau support to mythfrontend? i read a lot of post (in this and in other forums) where people got it to work with this mainboard.

If I'm not mistaken there are special packages of mythtv with vdpau compiled in... you might wanan just upgrade to mythtv 0.22 which almost certainly does. See this thread.
