I ordered an 3000 card to get into HDTV (to a monitor for now). I have a couple more HDTV questions. From what I see I will only be able to get HDTV from OTA sources. I have Dish Network and they broadcast a couple of HDTV channels in my package. 1. I dont have a Dish Network HDTV tuner, so I am pretty sure that the signal that comes out of it is converted to analog, and thus connecting that tuner to my 3000 card will not display the HDTV signal? 2. If I do get a Dish Network HDTV tuner and run it's output to the 3000 card would that get me the HDTV signal into my knoppmyth box? If this won't work, is it possible that it could in the near future? I would think that the card doesn't know whether the signal is coming from an antena or a cable... I don't watch OTA (local channels) too much, but want to atleast get a card before they Broadcast Flag deadline. Thanks in advance |

The pcHDTV card will never, under any circumstances, record an HD program from your Dish receiver. The satellite HDTV broadcasts are done in an entirely different manner and the pcHDTV card is not compatible with it (nor is any other HDTV card). I would suggest you try an antenna and enjoy some fine HDTV programming over the air! |

Oh and just a quick note I saw your computer specs in your signature. That's not going to cut it for hdtv. |
