I'm building a PVR for when I dump DirectTV but are there any cards that can record from a HD Source that lacks firewire?

nothing can get anything from directtv that hasn't gone through the box first. and there are only two ways to get hdtv a card like the hd3000 or air2pc can get it ota with an antenna, or from unencrypted qam. or from firewire capture from very few stb's.
