I have my signal working using the following mode line

ModeLine "NTSC-DVD-60p" 26.964 720 760 816 856 480 482 488 525

MythTV loads and I can navigate through the menus, and when I move over a recording I see the thumbnail of the movie playing. When I click to watch it, I get a blue screen with the black bars on both sides (4:3 on a 16:9 screen).

Also, If I try to watch TV I get the same blue screen. Audio works in both sections. Also, there is a little of the screen being cropped. can I adjust the screen or move it though the config? My TV doesn't have any options.

why are you using such a low resolution if you are going to an hdtv why not use 720p or 1080i?

Sony 57" Projection

Not sure of the model number, I didn't see it listed on the front (kind of hard to get to the back)

It's about 2 years old now.

It would be good to get the model # so we can find out what resolution your TV is expecting on the DVI port.

BTW, does anyone know the max refresh rate of the Sony Grand Wegas (GWIII - KF-60WE610)? I've not been able to find details anywhere. I'm connected via DVI and had been using 60Hz but just changed to 59.94Hz to try to reduce some stutter when the video pans across the screen (I guess this is closer to the actual video frame rate). It seems to have helped a bit but I've not really decided yet. I wonder if it is safe to go higher than 60Hz?

Crabby, There was a lot of discussion on the GWIII's on www.avsforum.com last year. I'm sure you could find your answer there.

Thanks! I used to read that site before I bought the TV but forgot about it since then. I'll check it out.
