Why the heck is there a Conexant Winfast TV2000 XP in there? I do not have one of those. I suspect that the HD-3000 is being misdetected somehow.

Is there anything else I can post that would shed some light on this issue?

Apparently, some people are able to load cx88-atsc and have no trouble.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

yeah for some reason or other they get detected as a leadtek 2000 it really confused me when I first started with hdtv as I did have a 2000 in the box, maybe why I could never get bttv and pchdtv to play nicely together. at any rate my hd3000 has always gotten loaded as leadtek not sure why but it works anyways.

Please don't do that, and even if you feel an unnatural and unwholesome compulsion do so in the prvacy of your own home. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE do not propogate this evil reeking meme from the bowels of hell. If for no other reason, as a personal favor to me. What you meant to say was:
Code:
chmod +rx cx88_atsc_remove.sh
Or possibly:
Code:
chmod u=rwx,go=rx cx88_atsc_remove.sh
Or if you insist on octal:
Code:
chmod 755 cx88_atsc_remove.sh

Right?

OK, you are right. I'll change the knoppmythwiki page...

:-)

Hey, someone got there first!

Thanks!

I know I'm hair trigger about this, but after repeatedly having to clean up after a certain induhvidual cow-orker who would not only do this RECURSIVELY on a whole directory tree in real live customer production systems... but teach other people to do it too. <SHUDDER>... Just seeing that number makes me go all Chief Inspector Dreyfus, complete with the facial tick and thoughts of mayhem dancing in my head...

Xsecrets,
I reinstalled my ATI TV Wonder VE in my PVR along side the 2 PVR-250's and the HD-3000. After some of the usual fiddling around with bttv modules I was able to get it to work. I don't think there is a conflict between the HD-3000 and bttv (or bt878) but since HD-3000 uses bttv the bt878 card has to have its module options loaded from the right /etc/mythtc/modules/bttv[1-4] file.

Without the bt878 card, I noticed that bttv was loaded and was looking in /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv2 by doing a modprobe -c | grep "include".

After I put in the bt878 card, I did it again and this time both /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv2 and /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv3 were being loaded. Why is the HD-3000 loading bttv, I have no idea as I don't see it being used. However, by trying to add in the "options bttv card=64 tuner=2" in the bttv2 file, I was able to get the kernel to pass the right options to the right version of bttv associated with the bt878 card rather than the bttv module associated with the HD-3000.

In short, the ATI TV Wonder VE (bt878 card) did work so we can rule out a general conflict between HD-3000 and the bt878 cards. Maybe there is still a conflict between the HD-3000 and the leadtek 2000 due to the misdetection?

Thanks!

Andrew Lynch

It must just be the leadtek that doesn't work then, because I tried every conceivable way to get it going and nothing worked. I spent a good week on it and no go.
